This year has been one of many different opportunities of networking and working along side with fellow photographers and vendors. This concept Inspired Shoot at Condor's Nest Ranch was planned with some amazing talented friends (Elizabeth Luna, Alicia Salcedo, and Harmony Loves). A special thanks to Elizabeth Luna for being the mastermind and coordinator to this amazing event. Events like Concept Inspired Shoots is about helping eachother out, no matter what level of photography you are in! It's a great way to be extra creative with lighting, posing, and exposure. I was honored to be apart of this event and a group leader to some phenomenal photographers that I so proudly call my friends! I have gotten some of the most nicest messages from photographer's in my group how they walked away learning something new!

I am breaking this blog into five posts, so before I get into talking about the beautiful models and photos I want to say a special thank you to Tracy Dee and Nikki Evans for assisting me on being group leaders. I can't thank you enough for all your help and being there when I needed you the most! To Kim, Stephanie, Marvin, Liz, Debbie, Stephanie, Tracy, and Nikki, Group 2 Rocked!!!

John + Monica Rancho Las Lomas Wedding Photographer

When John met his soul mate Monica on the set of Bring It On he knew that she was the girl that he would make his wife. Their wedding at Rancho Las Lomas was not only spectacular it was like a production how the whole day unfolded. From when I first arrived Monica ran in her pj's with excitement to come greet me, her day was just beginning of a day full of happiness. The wedding party was marvelous and everything ran smoothly thanks to Monica's dear friend and wedding planner Mitchel Le. Monica had two gowns designed by herself and aunt a.k.a. Mrs. Wang! The first she wore with her girls before the ceremony the second we went to a secluded hotel were she changed into her wedding gown. As she arrived back to Rancho Las Lomas for the processional to begin, John awaited her and held in so much emotion as she walked down the isle to a full capacity audience. Finally with a seal of a kiss they become husband and wife and we whisked away for some portraits. Their dinner was served and made by the fabulous Sally Ann Catering company as music was played on stage by the mariachi band. After the dinner special latin dancers came out with a bang. The party didn't stop there, John is a gymnast coach to some very top gymnast in the USA. They had a spring platform brought in for some tumbling action. As the guests were screaming with OOH's and AHH's out comes Monica to the middle stage as her groom runs towards her and does a front flip right over her. It still gives me chills it was amazing! With just a few minutes after the guest were escorted to the reception party and Monica changed to her party gown we were ready for more excitement. With personalized shot glasses being served throughout the night and DJ rocking the tunes this reception was energized.

I am so thankful to have met such an awesome couple and be a part of their wedding day. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cronin thank you for choosing Clifton Photography.

So it's been a long time since I've blogged to say that I have been too busy is an understatement. Wedding season has hit full force and I am having the time of my life meeting and being a part of so many amazing weddings. So I was hoping to upgrade to a new blog, but since I have not had the time I will continue were I am and start postings!!! Here is a wedding I had the pleasure of working with my dear friend Priscilla a.k.a. the grooms sister. The wedding day couldn't of been more beautiful in Riverside at Vivian Gardens Estate. John and Monica + Engagement Session + Hollywood Wedding Photographer

With long hours of shooting and perfecting their stunts on the set of Bring it On it wasn't long before these two love birds would find eachother. I can just see John walking on his hands up to to Monica just to start conversation. One day they all decided to go bowling at the Lucky Strike with other friends from the set, and it was at that special spot they shared their first kiss. From then on these two have enjoyed life performing together, laughing together, cheering together, but most importantly loving together.

When we talked about doing their engagement session, they were up for anything and everything. We had to split this session into two different days, but it was so worth spending the time with them and being creative!

Transic Vibe + Album : Vision of Eclectica + Temecula Photographer

A few weeks ago I had an amazing opportunity to shoot this remarkable band, Transic Vibe. Paul Antony is the vision behind this four piece band that has been together for many years, but they are now ready to take what they have to the next level.

This shoot was something that helped me search within myself as a photographer to think more outside the box and bring out who these artists are in an image. With photographing weddings you know that you have to capture the love and emotion, with a band I was at a block wall. Seriously, I've never been so nervous. What made it more at ease is that my most amazing and childhood friend Natalie whom is married to Paul, came along to our shoot and was not only supportive, but also our personal fashion stylist on hand. I do have to say what an awesome experience it was for me and how thankful I am to have had this opportunity.

Sean + Monica Engagement Session Las Vegas Wedding Photographer

We all know the saying ,"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!" So happy to know that what happened between Sean and Monica in Las Vegas is were the start of their love story begins, and has brought us to this day! When I asked Monica her first thoughts of Sean, she chuckled and said, "I thought Sean was the most stuck up person ever!" I think Sean was just playing hard to get. A group of old and new friends gathered to hang out for a weekend in Vegas, all dressed up and at a bar in the Venetian hotel Sean and Monica were introduced. Sean was a little reserved towards the girls, but within time conversations began and the chemistry between Sean and Monica was exploding.

The proposal!

One thing about Sean and Monica is that they love life and adventure. So what I have learned from my conversatios with Sean is that he is not only funny, full of jokes, but has a sweet romantic side. So when Sean said he proposed to Monica on a hot air balloon over looking the valley, I couldn't help but give him a high five! Down on his knee and those lovely words, "Monica, will you marry me?" She said, "Yes!" of course!

It was only fitting that we go to Vegas for their engagement session. Fortunately I was already out there for WPPI a photography convention. We split the shoot in two days. The first day I met three other photog friends of mine Elizabeth Luna, Alicia Salcedo, and Ming Chien. We later met my beautiful couple and hit the famous sign and the Venetian Hotel. The second day it was just the three of us as we hit the Wynn and New York hotels.

Thank you Monica and Sean for such a wonderful time, your love and warm personalities made this shoot unforgettable! I know that your wedding day is going to be just as spectacular! More than anything I am so greatful to have a new found friendship!

Eric + Leah Engagement Session Lake Arrowhead Wedding Photographer + Big Bear Wedding Photographer

I have been so blessed to meet some of the most amazing couples. When I first met Leah and Eric, I knew we were going to have a great connection. So when Eric drove us all out to a long haul up the mountains, we had a lot more time to get to know one another. I won't get into details on his truck that will one day be a classic, but for now we are all grateful we made it there and back no problems. Leah did get a little car sick on the way up, but as soon as we settled in she was a trooper. To see the way these two just love eachother, hold eachother, and look into eachother's eyes was blissful. Their wedding is in June at the beach, so when I asked where they would like to do their engagement session, they said the snow! That is why living in Southern California is such a priviledge! Thank you Eric and Leah for letting me be a part of this special time, I am so happy to be your wedding photographer! A special thanks to Kelli from Kelli B photography for coming out with me.

The sky was just amazing in Lake Arrowhead, crisp, and clean.

As we were driving around looking for parking, my eyes are wondering around for some amazing location. I saw this boat and my heart was happy! Even though my poor Leah had a little slip she was brave and look at what a great image was captured.

The chemistry between these two is spellbinding!

It was so cute to see how much Eric loves Leah, he made sure he would carry her when we were unsure if the snow would cave in, I think she stayed dried the whole time.

I love the way they feel towards eachother, in love, and in happiness.

They are so adorable, they were so excited to build a snowman. So they kept trying to put a snowball together.

They kept trying, but the snow in Big Bear was a little slushy. The snow just wouldn't stick and all that came from it was this perfect snowball.

Elyse Reuben Custom Couture + Runway Show + Pechanga Casino + Temecula

Last week I had an amazing opportunity to come out with a good friend of mine Alicia and be guests for Jaime of Elyse Reuben Custom Couture. Jaime's 2010 collection was the featured runway at the Pechanga Bridal Show. I wouldn't be me if I didn't say how nervous I was, but truly excited all bundled into one. You see this was a generous honor to be asked to be a part of this event, one that I am sincerely greatful for. This day couldn't of been more perfect with 10 talented and beautiful models, amazing bouquets by Annette of Murrieta V.I.P. Florist, Tuxedos by Class Act, hair and make-up team from Tanya Gray Salon, and lastly the fabulous gowns designed by Jaime of Elyse Reuben. In between the runway, Alicia and I did a full on shoot with the girls on location. What really helped was that we visited the venue the day before, and scouted what spots we wanted to shoot at. Luckily we met a manager of the venue who gave us access to Eagles Nest Club, were Alicia and I split apart and started shooting. The great thing with working with models is that as a photographer you can work together and try different things and get even more creative. Here are a few of my favorites from the day. You know the saying, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." How true are these words that breathe's life into this couple. Their story begins when they fell in love at a young age, with the timing not being right, they broke apart. They ended up starting new beginnings apart from each other for over 18 years. Then came a place in their lives for them to reconnect. With the power of computer and networking forums they found each other. It wasn't long before these two rekindled what they left behind. This is when the newest and most beautiful love story begins. For many months they traveled between California and Arizona to see each other. Karla being such a funny girl seems to always get the surprises out of Ray. Ray knew he didn't want to live the rest of his life without Karla so he planned a surprise getaway. When the planning didn't work, he blurted over the phone," I want to marry you Karla! I want to propose to you! I've been waiting for the right time that financially I will be able to support you, and give you the wedding you've always dreamed of." Not but a few weeks later he started a new job in Iraq, training the new police force for the country. This job required a lot of time apart, but his promise to Karla was true, as her wedding of her dreams came to life.

Ray and Karla, you both make my heart smile to see how in love you two are. All the phone calls with Karla whether it was to look at jewelry, shoes, or visit you at your home. I was more than happy to help you on this special day. Bill and I are so honored to be their to capture this beautiful time of your lives.

A quick note for my brides and future brides. Karla and Ray made special arrangements for us to have 2 hours of shooting time for their portrait session. I know not everyone has this flexability, but the positive is having more portraits and more creativity for your albums.

This wedding... if I can describe in one big word was just plain out F-U-N! With all the planning for the wedding and Jon being in the US Army serving our country in Iraq, there was no budget left for a wedding photographer. Warm-Heartedly, Jon's family pulled together, and started searching for a wedding photographer as their gift. It was a month before their wedding date that I received a phone call from this sweet lady Francy, Jon's mother. In the end I was hired and in for a great treat! John and Aubree are so amazing. At first I was a little concerned because I always get to know my clients months in advance. I met them just two days before their wedding. What an honor for me to capture not only a beautiful couple, but their love for their friends and family. I want to do a big shout out to their bridal party, who hands down worked the camera, and kept me laughing throughout the night! What a great couple Ana and Dave are, and how you can see how much they treasure eachother! Love has brought two people from two ends of the world together. Dave is from England and Ana is from California. Ana and I talked a few times on the phone before we had our first consult and just really hit it off. Dave was flying in for Christmas and to help work on wedding details so we scheduled our meeting so I can meet them both. It was great to sit down and hear about the details of their wedding. They both really wanted to have an engagement session, but they were worried I couldn't squeeze them in before he had to leave back home. I was so happy to be able to fit them in just fine, and since Ana loved the beach we began our day. Instantly you can feel the love. That just made me and my camera smile! I think if I didn't have another location to go to I would of easily had them fully in the water, maybe next time! It was so nice to have my great friend Kelli with Kelli B Photography to come out and second shoot. During Catholic ceremonies they are very technical with were photographers can be so having Kelli taking charge of behind the church while I was up front made for a great combination.

The reception was held at a library upstairs, so they were kind to leave the reception for a few minutes while we played quietly. It was only fitting that we went to the Romance section and found a favorite of mine...The Notebook!

Merry Christmas!!!- Inland Empire Photographer

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Enjoying time with friends and family making new and unforgettable memories. Coming from a family with multi traditions I had two days full of enjoying it all! One of things I remember as a childhood tradition are the times my mom and aunts would get together to make tamales. Tamales is one of those meals that tastes amazing, but takes a lot of time, preparation, and heart to make. I received a call from my Mom on December 23 asking if I wanted to come over to help prepare some tamales for Christmas. I was so happy to tell the kids to get ready because we are going to go to grandma's to make a childhood favorite meal! They looked at me puzzled...okay! Happy with my camera in hand I couldn't help but to capture a few shots. It wasn't long before my brother saying c'mon put that camera down and let's get to work!!! hahaha. My kids noticed that their cousins were there and decided playing outside was funner , but my little girl Sierra! She found that putting the masa, filling, and folding was just plain out fun. With her little apron on she went for it, and for those of you who know my little girl she is a yapper. Keeps the conversations to it's most fullest humor. It was a great feeling to be surrounded by my siblings, their children, and just have fun with our Mom to keep us in line. Sometimes it takes some good hearted cooking to bring us together, but that's what traditions and holidays do is bring families closer. I am so blessed to have an amazing family on both my side and my husbands, that our holiday was two days full of unforgettable memories! Today I post our adventure of tamale making, a book my mother read to my daughter, and a sneak peak of weddings to come! I know I have been away from blogging for a few weeks, with shooting two weddings, over 9 family shoots, a Christmas party shoot, 40th glamour shoot, booked 3 new weddings for next year, and two of my kids celebrating another year this month I have to state this is the most busiest ever. Looking forward to sharing new shoots and my new years resolutions for 2010.

When Thanksgiving approaches we know how quickly the year is coming to its end, but more importantly we reflect on what we are most thankful for. This post is to share an idea I had with my children yesterday as I wanted them to let me know what they were truly thankful for. So before we went to be with family and share some grub food at my sister Brandys house I grabbed a few shots of my kids. When I look at these photos it makes me so thankful to God for all the blessings he has brought into my life. I am blessed to be a wife, mom, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend. As I write this post I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving with their family and friends.

I've known Michelle for years, and when I received an email from mom asking if I can do her Senior pictures I was more than excited. Michelle is very well rounded young lady, very active in school with sports and community. As you can see on her Letterman's Jacket she has hardly any room to add any more activities! On our way to our shoot I had the opportunity to listen to her goals of becoming an RN and the schools she is applying for. Mr and Mrs Westfall - Seneca Falls, New York Wedding Photographer

This wedding holds a special place in my heart. I have known the bride Brittany since she was only 16 years of age. There was a time she worked for me and we would always talk about the day she were to get married. I remember her always saying when I get married you will be my photographer. Almost 8 years later she kept her word and hired me as her wedding photographer. I couldn't have been more happier and more excited for my first ever destination wedding. What was even more comforting was going across the United States with amazing friends.
Their story is quite different than most. Steve is a mechanic for a professional motocross rider and Brittany's family have been in the racing scene for many years with their brother. Brittany's sister Samantha met Steve at a race out of state and thought well this guys seems really cool for my sis. Long story short Brittany and Steve started speaking on the phone and arranged to meet. Keep in mind Brittany is a Cali girl and Steve is from Seneca Falls, New York. Brittany said she felt ok buying a ticket and flying to New York to meet Steve for the first time. As she boarded off the airplane she looked for the face she had only seen in pictures, nervous, scared, and their he was. With a warm embrace in that instant they knew they were destined for eachother. Which brings us to this day.

Mini High Fashion Shoot- GUESS inspired- Murrieta Photographer

A few months back I was part of a small shoot in Laguna Beach, that is were I had the opportunity of working with models Valentina and Kaylie. Valentina and I were talking about how fun it would be to do a shoot with smokey eyes, slightly teased hair, our minds just kept clicking away with ideas. In my area it is not common to find Shoot Outs, or photographers getting together to build portfolios. Atleast I have not heard of any until my first experience with a group called Photog Shootout. The thing is that they always remark the importance of networking with other photographers and branching off to have smaller shoot outs. I have been so fortunate to have been surrounded by amazing photogs, make-up artists, etc.. and invited to some amazing shoots that are just out of this world awesome!

Not having anything close to home I was talking with my friend Alicia about my talks with Valentina. Long story short she was so kind to open her home and use this amazing location right around the corner from her house. The one thing with my friend Alicia when her mind get's going, she gets going! Let's just say there will be a little film of us all in action that was produced on our day, thanks to Alicia's friend Moises. On another note, because we are not pros at putting together a shoot we all had a great time pretending like we did and just went with the flow. Here are some of my favorites from the day!

Another creative and fun shoot from the mind of my friend Wai Reyes! I am so honored to be a part from the beginning of these Shutter Project shoots. Working with talented photogs like Wai, Ming, and Duc has brought my photography to a whole different level. The models Lindsey and Victorria from this shoot were just genuinely beautiful inside and out and I admire their passion. We also had the pleasure of having my friend Crystal Roberts do an oustanding job with hair and make-up. This was her first professional shoot and she hands down nailed it. This was also the first shoot that we had a professional stylist Emily Hively, without her we could not have had these perfect vintage gowns. Emily also has an amazing eye to detail and very creative in posing. On another note this was the first time I was able to start learning off-camera lighting, and I am fascinated by the outcome! My shutter project crew has really outdid themselves for this shoot and I am really inspired by each of them, I cannot wait for our next adventure!

I love, love, love what I do! I have been so blessed to have the most amazing couples to cross my path and I have had the true honor of being able to capture their true LOVE! Andy and Sandi are nothing short of FABULOUS, I know for most men, pictures is not first on the list when a good baseball game is on! We had an amazing time in San Diego at Balboa Park. I'm sure they did not have a clue what was in store for them. Balboa Park is a beautiful location and so much ground to cover, but on a weekend with beautiful sunshine you find it a bit crowded. Their love withstood the on lookers. Our adventure ended at Belmont Park were we played some more. Andy and Sandi I can see how much you adore eachother and am looking forward to your big day in July of next year!

My Family Visit to Wickerd Farm Pumpkin Patch - Menifee Photographer

Fall is one of my most favorite seasons, the weather starts to cool down, the leaves start changing and begin to fall off the trees, morning coffee never felt so warm, and preparing for the days ahead of intimate family traditions waiting to unfold. One thing I have not been doing on my blog is writing more about me personally and the other side of Clifton Photography. A wife and mother of four...yes, I said FOUR precious children. They are not only my support, but my biggest fans!

This past weekend we did what most families do right before Halloween, we went searching for our carving pumpkin. My sister-n-law Bonnie told me of a quaint little farm off of Scott Rd. Dad was away on business and I asked my Mom if she would like to tag along in our hunt! Off we went and had a great time. Let me formally introduce you to my children from oldest to youngest is Austin, Savannah, Brandon, and little missy Sierra. Here are just a few pictures I was able to shoot of our little adventure.

This last weekend www.allwedsites.com hosted a bridal show at the ever beautiful La Cereza Winery located in Temecula California. My friend Alicia was invited by Jaime owner of Elyse Reuben Custom Couture to come photograph the runway show that they were highlighting some of their custom couture collection for the bridal show. Alicia asked if I would like to join her and I was more than ecstatic. With some wind, fun beautiful models, hair dressers, make-up artist, gorgeous venue and an array of one of kind breathtaking gowns we had a hit of a shoot. Meet my friend Vintage Veronica, an awesome woman who loves that era where pins are used to make curls in your hair, make-up was glamourous as Marilynn Monroe, and the girl who posed with her boys hot rod was all the rage! The good ol' days. Veronica is a cousin of one of my photog friends Alicia Salcedo. She knew how much her cousin enjoyed sometimes dressing up on the weekends and going to car shows and thought why not have a photo shoot. Alicia and I always have fun hanging out together, and she thought it would be cool to shoot together. So we went out to a friends house right around the corner from her house who had an old Dodge pick-up. We shot in her friends driveway and found our way driving into old town Temecula. We had a blast and Veronica was such a doll. Veronica we will have to do this again, maybe Alicia and I can do this in San Francisco!

To make a long story short I was invited by a real close friend of mine Diane to help her at a wedding close to home. Her mother in law Rev. Judith DeMarco was performing the ceremony for her best friends son. First of all it's a wedding and I am all game to help, whether or not I am the photographer or not. Still can't pry my camera from my hands. In the end I became like a third shooter at the wedding. This was my first visit at the Wood Nickel Ranch in Menifee. It is perfectly themed for that country boy Wyatt Earp style wedding. I had a blast to say the least and met a great couple Chuck and Sara. Their families were like my own warm and inviting with great conversations and laughter. Here are a few of the images I captured of their day. Meet Jacob and Lucas Twin Baby Boys!

This year has been busy with new little babies. What a wonderful delight to capture this families new bundles of joys. These two boys are going to have such a happy childhood with two older siblings, mother, father, and let's not forget grandma who has been a helping hand. One thing I have learned with photographing babies is the temperature in the home has to be warm. So these shoots are like we are in a sauna, but the babies are so much comfortable in their birthday suits. Already these boys show distinct personalities with baby Jacob having the most expressions and baby Lucas was so sleepy, please leave me alone. So adorable. A special thank you to Alex and Karina for introducing me to this kind and loving family. Stephen + Crystal Enagement Session - LA Angels Stadium + Orange Circle

To look back and to say I love you more now than we were kids in high school may seem a little far fetched to some, but for Stephen and Crystal is has become their story. Stephen and Crystal have always known that they would come to this point in their lives, but the right time had to be perfect. That special moment came when Stephen had three special gifts for Crystal on Christmas. He gave her the decision to pick one at a time, the first was earrings she had been wanting, the second one was a perfect little box, with butterflies in her tummy she opened the box and to her surprise was a perfect ring as Stephen took a knee and asked those magical words "Will you Marry Me!" A little silence of shock came out with a happy "Yes!" Which leads us to this E-session. I think Crystal surprised not only Stephen but I with the location. I think I screamed on the phone with her as she told me we were going to be shooting at the Angels Stadium. Not to take away from this couple, but the Angels are my favorite Baseball team ever and to shoot on the grounds was just too cool!!!! Stephen and Crystal you two were so much fun, I am looking forward to your special day.

A Father's Wish - Jim Wilhite January 10, 1973 - August 10, 2009

The Wilhites have been friends of ours for many years. The horseshoe man of our little town always had the biggest smile, and the tightest hand shake. "You always look a person right in the eye, and give them a hard hand shake." I would remember him telling me,"That's how you know if a person is good people." Jim was a cowboy, yes a real cowboy, he rode bulls in his early years. Married the girl who tied a rope around his heart Doris and has three beautiful children Jimmy, Jonny, and Tatiana. His presence was always known wherever he would be, a good man. Jim was diagnosed with cancer during the early fall of last year. Not knowing yet how severe the cancer was, and the battle he was going to have to fight this aggressive disease. One day I received an email from a good friend asking close friends and the community if they can reach out to the Wilhites family during the holiday season as Jim was going to go through chemo. My heart ached as I read the email and I replied if my gift could be to give the family a photo session. Not a day went by when I received an email back saying when we can schedule. I wanted to share a few of the images from our session and remember a son, brother, husband, father, neighbor, and a dear friend. One of the songs we are using for his dvd slideshow is My Wish from Rascal Flats. These lyrics struck a chord as words coming from Jim to his kids, "My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold, And while you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too, Yeah, this, is my wish."

Meet Baby Camdyn Faith Hodge and her beautiful story!

One of my most dearest friends for many years Natalie, was so excited to become an auntie for the first time. With so much happiness she called me and asked if I could take some portraits of her newborn niece. Little did I know the story behind the birth of Camdyn and what perseverance her parents went through to have their baby girl. So I was talking to her mommy and asked if she could write how baby Camdyn came into their lives. Here is what she wrote.

Camdyn Faith Hodge was born on June 3rd, 2009 but she had been a dream of ours since 2005 when Travis and I were married. Unfortunately, after a year of trying to conceive and surgery, we were told that we would not conceive naturally and that our only hope was to pursue extensive fertility treatments. We began the long and painful process of In-Vitro Fertilization. After several months of medications, injections and surgical procedures we were hopeful to have a a successful embryo transfer, however, we were crushed to learn that the cycle had not worked and we were not pregnant. We took a year to recover from that experience and decided to try another cycle of IVF. This time, the doctors tried different medications and injections in hopes of growing better quality eggs and embryos. I received the best phone call of my life when we found out on October 24th that the cycle was a success and we were finally pregnant! We praised God for blessing us with this miracle. Travis and I were over the moon with excitement and couldn't believe that our dream of becoming parents had finally come true. Little did we know that our battle was just beginning. Soon after, I started to have bleeding and learned that I had a slight tear in the placenta which meant that I was on bed rest until the end of the first trimester. Upon being released from bed rest I went back to work and was really enjoying the pregnancy until I wound up in the hospital 6 weeks later for 4 days with pre-term contractions and some type of unknown infection that threatened the life of my growing little baby. I was ordered back on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy, which was approximately 4 more months and received fetal monitoring and ultrasounds about 3-4 times a week. Every appointment was nerve racking but week after week we received good reports on our growing little "he-she." Each week marked a milestone and gave us a bit more peace as grew closer to the due date. We finally reached what we considered to be the "safe zone" of 36 weeks and I was released once again off of bed rest. Once again, that time was short lived as I began having unexplained high blood pressure which lead to strict bed rest and a scheduled induction. The happiest day of our life came when I delivered Camdyn at 12:59 pm on June 3rd, 2009. She was a mere pounds ounces and 18 inches long. A tiny little peanut! She's been the biggest blessing and we finally feel like our family is complete!

Ray + Karla Engagement Session Newport Beach and Balboa Park

Love is funny. Sometimes it takes second chances to get it just right. Karla and Ray have a story to tell, but in the end it brings them a Happily Ever After. I remember being in Arizona when I received the call from Karla saying "Rita, I'm getting married and you are my photographer!" So excited to hear all the details, I found out that Ray is serving our country in Iraq so he leaves for a long period of time. We knew that he would be home in July and knew we had to schedule their engagement session. Karla is a funny girl as she was searching high and low for something to wear and came up with nothing. So she called me and asked,"Rita, can you please come to my house and help me find something to wear?" Of course I did, and we came up with three outfits and shoes....oh does this girl have shoes!

On to the day of the shoot. I was so happy my husband Bill came to shoot along side me. We decided we would leave early, enjoy the day together, and scout locations. As we were walking around I receive a call from Karla saying they had just been in a car accident! "Are you ok?" I say. She said they were both fine. "It's ok we can reschedule." I say. "No, no we are still on for our shoot." she says. I understood we would not be shooting on schedule. With an hour of time of shooting we had so much fun. Ray and Karla were putty in my hands, willing to do anything, everything, but get in the cold water! Maybe next time :). With such a short time of shooting we were only able to get in two of the three outfits, but I am very pleased with the results. Ray and Karla thank you for such a great time we will have to plan a dinner date and just hang out. We look forward to your wedding in January at San Juan Capistrano Mission!

San Juan Capistrano OC Photog ShootOut Sneak Peak!

Camera check, directions check, ready to meet 50 wonderful Photogs check...check...check! All I can say is that with every new ShootOut I am a part of I walk away with so much more knowledge . Being a part of this group has not only given me a whole outlook on the way I capture a photograph, but it has given me inspiration to become a better photographer. A special shoutout to the wonderful people from Photog Shoot Out Hanssie, Matt, and Rob for putting together this amazing gathering, everything was perfect. On another high note we had amazing guest speakers. I actually had the opportunity to shoot next to one of America's top ten wedding photographers....drum roll please.... the famous Jasmine Star. Yes I know inspirational, she challenged me in incredible ways! Love her!

The first group session was with another amazing photographer I just love her style Kristin Rogers who taught us about lighting. Our models Troy and Aimee were so gorgeous they could of walked out of a magazine. When I saw the connection between these two it just melted my heart. As you all know I am sappy over true love so I found myself following this couple to each session. Later to find out that Troy is an awesome photographer himself soon to wed the girl who has captured his heart. How lucky are they to have all these amazing photographers to capture their engagement shots! Here is just a sneak peak of some of my favorites of the day. Steve is a native New Yorker and Brittany is a So Cal girl. Brittany's time in New York secured in her heart that this is the place she wanted to wed the man of her dreams, and begin their journey. Savannah Casanova Sweet Sixteen!

A child's love is very special and is a true blessing. As a mother myself you have the experience to love, teach, discipline, nourish, and watch them grow. You pray that every valuable lesson in life if they do fall, they will always know you will be there to help them back up. The Casanova's are a very close family, and through ups and downs, they come out stronger and even closer. That is were Savannah's sweetness, love, and kindness shows. This young lady is one that will not only succeed in life, but give to the world.

Savannah's photoshoot was in the plans for a while, but when the day finally came it couldn't of been more perfect! You see Savannah's mom has a job that comes with a very long comute, so her time with her family is very precious. This photoshoot was not only to capture her daughter's coming of age and her beauty, but to spend that special time together.

For Savannah's blog debut I was asked to pick a song I felt was special for her blog slideshow. The pressure....no, really I was cool with that. After listening to music, lyrics, it came to me. I had the song! Later, the next day I asked her mother if she would like something special to say to her daughter. Her mother wrote these touching words, "Our Savannah, already 16 and it seems just like yesterday that we were blessed with you; our miracle child. People thought I was crazy to have a baby at such a young age; but I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. I am so happy I was blessed with you. Time has flown by and you could not make us any prouder! You are truly one of the most amazing young ladies; thoughtful, caring, unique and most of all beautiful both inside and out. Your Dad and I are excited for you and your future as we know you will make the most of your life and we will be right there with you on your lifes journey! Just like our song "In My Daughter's Eyes" I see alot of me in you; but one thing is true you will surpass me and that is all a parent ever truly wishes for with their children. Life is beautiful. When two people are destined for each other you never know when cupid will hit. The little man from love happened to fly through a little place in San Diego. She was at the bar counter grabbing a few drinks with her girlfriends when this man came up to the same counter and was ordering a few drinks for his guy friends. They smiled and began to talk. What seem like minutes ended up being hours. Needless to say the guy friends started to buy their own drinks. They were so consumed with another that they talked till they kicked them out. They left with giggly goodbyes and each other's numbers. The next day, the man called the woman and realized they didn't even know each other's names. So with a quick I'll call you back he hung up. She was baffled. He called again and said, "Hi, my name is Keith we met last night." That is where their story begins and the love flourished. Darlene and Keith, I am honored to have met you both and your families, I wish you a life long of happiness.

Family Session

Being a photographer you have clients that just click with you based on personalities, your work, your sincerity, your creativeness, and you hope for all of the above. You also hope to not only be a part of one occasion, but of future one's to come. This family is just one of those stories. I had the pleasure of photographing the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Slane to a wonderful young man. Even though I was a perfect stranger they made me and my assistant (a.k.a. my mom) feel like we knew each other for years. So with that being said it was nice to catch up with the family for a session at the park. This family has as much humor as they do love for eachother, this session was a little more surreal because their other daughter and her boyfriend are moving to Arizona. Let's just say it didn't take much to make these people laugh... inside joke, they know what I mean! Thank you all for such a great time. Sorry I couldn't get in the picture with you, but I didn't have a white shirt! There is this thing we all have, maybe it's an intuition of some sort, but sometimes we get this gut feeling. Let me explain. Melissa and I befriended eachother while two of our kids attended preschool. Our daughters are currently in the same class, but about two months ago I had this feeling I needed to ask her if she has ever had wedding pictures done. So I thought to myself... that's crazy, what are you going to do go up to her and say WHAT? Well, I confronted her and my first words were, " I have a weird question to ask." and she looked at me like...ok, "Have you ever had wedding pictures done?" She smiled and said, "That is funny that you asked, because I was getting ready to sell my wedding dress I never wore on ebay!" So with that simple question and my intuition we became even better friends and planned HER day, oh and James too :) James has served our country in the military for many years. So between children and being in the military the wedding they planned never happened until they met me! I believe God gives us a gift and my gift is to capture love, happiness, tears, kisses, emotion, and in general LIFE! James and Melissa here is your story.

I've known Steven's family for many years now, they are one of the most well known families in our small town for there kindness, support, organizing events, and giving back to the community. Steven is a very polite young man who has his future all planned out...college and career. He is also an avid Angel Baseball fan which gave us a lot to talk about! I have been looking for a software program to post video slide shows on my blog that are more clean. Being that I'm not a technical computer girl I think I found what I was looking for. Mike and Anita Wedding at Alta Vista Country Club

When Bill and I first met this couple we were photographing Anita's sisters wedding Loni and Phillip in Santa Barbara about a year and a half ago. I remember walking around the reception and noticed Mike and Anita laughing and having a great time. I told Bill these two have a connection. So it was with great happiness when Anita called me and asked us to photograph there special day a year later! Don't you just love when you see two people and just know that they were destined to be with each other? Anita has a wonderful son named Andrew and even though it had been just the two of them, Mike came into there lives and made them complete. Prom! My sister is now a senior at Paloma Valley High, so it was only fitting that I would capture this special time. Like most traditions some tend to fade away, and with a group of friends we came together and did a non traditional prom photo shoot before they ventured off for the night of fun! Hello and welcome to my blog! It's been a long time awaiting to flourish this new venture. For those of you that know me and have been supporting, encouraging, and praying for this... I thank you!
